RE: Winter storing
Hi: We winterize our 5th wheel and wash it. Then it is stored outside. I cover the tires(I put about 55psi in the tires, normally I have 50psi for traveling) and make sure it is on a slight slope so the tires and jacks do not stand in ice or water. If you can store inside without spending a lot of dollars do that. My storage cost me $30/month for my 30 foot 5th wheel. Happy Camping. Jim2007
RE: GPS with preloaded campground info
Hi All: Thanks for the information on GPS unit. I am evaluating them now in hopes of getting one for Christmas. Jim2007
RE: Flush King and Full Hookup CG
Hi All: Thanks for the education. I have purchased a Flush King but have not used it. We camp at a lot of camp sites and sometimes we get a full hook up one which includes sewage. Happy Camping. Jim2007
RE: leave the propane on?
Hi: I leave the propane tank on while driving. I only turn the propane on the night before we are going to travel so that the frig will cool down.
RE: GPS software.
Hi Dieselgem: I am not currently using GPS. I would like to purschase a GPS unit that has programing for fuel stop, food stop and campgrounds for RV rigs. Thanks Jim2007
RE: Verizon EVDO is a great way for RVers to surf
Hi RVN'S 4 US: What is the cost per month of Verizon EVDO? We do not RV full time but the broadband service here in our home is not very good. Thanks. Jim2007
RE: No need annual brake check & wheel bearing mtce?
Hi: Good question. My Forest River 5th wheel trailer had about 15K on it when I had the bearing repacked and the brakes checked. The manuel said yearly or at 5K. My friend has about 35 years experience towing trailers and the 15K is his guideline. Jim2007
RE: Should We Skip TT and go 5'er?
Hi: I would suggest a 5th wheel. We have a 30' ultra light Flagstaff which is a Forest River Product. We have put about 17K on the trailer so far we are happy with it. This is our first trailer and it is a entry level 5th wheel as we did not want to spend all our savings on a trailer. It is easy to hook up and has very little sway when towed down the highway. This trailer has a GVWR of about 8100 lbs. and we tow it with a Dodge 2500 diesel. Happy Camping. Jim2007
